After arriving in the U.S. from Germany in 1858, they first settled in Wisconsin, moving to Benton Township, Carver County, Minnesota in 1860. There children were: 1) Gerhard (married to Sybilla Huenemann), 2) Catharina (married to Michael Daniels), 3) Sybilla (married to Jacob Bongard), 4) Elisa and 5) Heinrich.
