Found Byron C. Martin in the St Loius County Death Index (dod 2/13/1934 in Proctor). Also found Mary Ellen Martin (dod 5/19/1954) and Russel Martin (8/6/1968).

I checked the Duluth area phone book and came up with 3 churches in Proctor:
-St. Rose Catholic Church, 3 Sixth Ave, Proctor, MN 55810
-Bethlehem Luthern Church, 701 N Third Ave, Proctor, MN 55810
-Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove St., Proctor, MN 55810

Since Proctor is in St. Louis County, not Carlton, you might want to re-post in the St. Louis County forum.

Hope this helps.
