Martin & Catherine "Katie" Schmidt/Smith of Gilmanton, MN

My Great Grandparent's were Martin & Catherine "Katie" Schmidt, and they went by Smith in the US, and after 1910 apparently went back to the name Schmidt. They immigrated from Gross Zirkwitz, West Prussia (an area of present day Poland), in 1881 and 1883. The had 6 children in West Prussia, and immigrated with 5 surviving children. They had 10 more children in Minnesota. Catherine's maiden name was Behnke (aka Benke, Bahnke, Banke, and others). There were some "Warmke's" nearby, and they seemed to have some children named "Behnke". I'm not yet sure, but I think Mary Warmke could have been Catherine's Mother, and perhaps had a 2nd marriage. Would love to know more about all, and any photos would be greatly appreciated. I have photos of my Grandmother, and a few other children, I can share.

Thanks so mcuh!! Tom McMillan (Washougal, WA)
