Sir: Hello, I'm writing because I'm very interested in Mizell Y-DNA results. I've spent a number of years researching the entire family (Bertie/Martin Counties) and personally descended from John Mizell d.1747 Chowan Co. NC. I'm coming to the conclusion that his family is not necessarily descended from Luke Mizell III or his father Lawrence Mizell. I'm thinking he may be from a different branch (related for sure) of the family and his descendants may have a different DNA than those descended from William Mizell d.1761 and his brother Luke Mizell III. I'm assuming you are descended from the sons of William and Prudence Mizell of Duplin Co. based solely on the spelling of your name. Unfortunately there are no known Mizell males in my own line living (my family spelled it Meazel by 1854) and my great-grandmother was a Meazel, dying in 1919 so I can't take the Y-DNA test. I'm wondering if anybody else's DNA from one of the other branches of the family has matched your own? Notify Administrator about this message?
