Mizell Family Genealogy Forum

I did an extensive search for this man in military and census records at Ancestry.com because I was also trying to find out where he fit into the Mizell family.
I deduced that this man is the same person as Sgt-Major N. Mizell who was killed heroically leading the colors into the enemy December 31, 1862 at Murfreesboro. The Muster roll of march 1862 showed him as a private, so he was promoted since then.
There are no men/boys named N. Mizell in Alabama census records 1850-60. The only person it might be would be Noah "Newton" Mizell b.1846 Camden Co. Ga. to Perry S. Mizell. He served in the 4th Georgia (memory says) and I don't find him surviving the war. The 4th Georgia was not at Murfreesboro however.
