I am writing this post in hope of helping my husband research his family.
My Husbands name is Herbert William Mizzell Jr, son of Herbert William Sr and Grandson of Jesse Mizzell.
Both his father and grandfather are buried in a family cemetery off of Hwy 27(between I26 and the prison)
My husband, father and grandfather lived in Ladson, Sc. They are related to the Mizzells in Ridgeville;however, due to some dispute (according to his father, when he was born, his fathers family tried to steal him out of the hospital) they have became estranged, so my husband knows nothing at all right now about his family.
We are working on getting his parents birth certificates soon. Please note that Herbert Mizzell passed away in 1991-1992 when my husband was 19 and his mother a couple years later. His parents did have him late in life.
Also, there is supposed to be a Mizzell family reuinion held yearly in Ridgville. Does anyone have info on this?
Also, if anyone has been out to the family cemetery, they will notice the plaque with family history on it too.
