I do not recall looking in Switzerland. There are many spellings of the name in Eastern & Western Europe. Maisel seems to be big in Eastern Europe but I have also seen it in France and Germany.I have seen it expressed as M'Ezel,Mezel,Mesel, etc. etc. as I am sure you have. Have you seen this website?
