Sometime a little before 1867, Elizabeth Geer married a Mizell boy. As Elizabeth's family was living in the Four Mile (now Campbell) area in Northwest Dunklin Co MO, I suspect that the marriage took place at Geer residence. Shortly afterwards the family moved to Alexander Co IL. It was most likely here that Elizabeth gave birth to two sons, Joseph abt 1867 and Tilford abt 1869. By the 1870 census Elizabeth had married William F Banthrall and their marriage place and date is unknown too. There is no record in IL for either of Elizabeth's marriages and the only proof I have is the 1870 and 1880 census.
Sometime between 1870 and 1880, Tilford Mizell died. Sometime between 1872 and 1877 the Banthrall family moved to Stoddard Co MO. Joseph Mizell is still at home and listed as William Banthrall's step-son.
There's little chance that Joseph's obit can be located as he died sometime between 1895 and 1900 and his wife the former Rosetta A McGriger also had died between 1896 and 1900. Their 3 children Mary, Samuel and Robert are found living with their maternal grandparents Joel B and M Elizabeth Reynolds McGriger in 1900 Liberty Township of Stoddard Co MO.
I am trying to learn the name and life data of Joseph's father. According to the 1880 census, he was supposedly born in Kentucky. Any info will be greatly appreciated and will share what I have on Joseph's family.
