I see from the 1860 census Mary owned land. I would look at tax records, when does her name first appear? That's when she became a widow. Then look at previous tax roll, make a note of all male Bennetts. Then see which one is missing when Mary appears. Also, in those days it was thought women couldn't handle business, so I would look for guardianship records for those minor children. The guardian didn't physically take the children and raise, but just reported to the court of any sale etc of the estate. This was supposedly to protect the interts of the minor children.
