My 2Xgreat grandfater was Griffin Mizell Bennett born June 13, 1842 in AL and died in 1920 in Magnolia TX. I think Mizell was a family name. I don't know who his father was but his mother's first name was Mary. He had these siblings on the Dale Co AL 1860 census: John W, 18; Mary, 16; Sarah, 13; Susan, 11.
He and John served in the Civil War and John died in service.
He married Annie McNair and they moved to TX after the war. They named their children William, Sarah, Lula, Estelle, Mattie Irene, Stella, Bettie, Fannie and Carrie.
