Please excuse my intrustion into this whole discussion on Mizell surname, but I have just found that MIZELL surname is being associated with ROGERS families out of NC into Carroll Co. TN and my own Rogers in Carroll Co. TN who moved to Boone Co. AR. So far I find only one Mizell intermarried into our lines of ROGERS and will list them below. However MIZELL surname is associated with other ROGERS of Carroll Co. TN who are out of NC, and I will also list the court records with William Mizell named in those papers for anyone who might want to research him. We have no information on the family of MIZELL and if anyone has further data on these individuals please post. ( Most of our ROGERS collatoral lines are found to be FRENCH, even those we thought were Scottish are actually of French lines it appears, though no DNA testing has been done to establish this and only the oral histories and written and published histories of many ROGERS/RICHESIN/ JULIAN/ MURRAY lines have established their being French lines. )We also used the court data and established migrations of these families from generations before from France,to England/ Ireland, and West Indies into South Carolina, NC, Virginia, Maryland and then back down into NC and TN before then migrating into MO and AR. WE have no data on the MIZELL families however. But our collatoral lines seemed to keep intermarrying every generation with yet more of so called, FRENCH heritages. Tina May Mizell b. OK md. CILBY LOY ROGERS b. bet. 1892 -1893 Boone Co. AR and they married in AR, I believe. CARROLL CO. TN name of MIZELL appears below in court house records of TOBIAS W. ROGERS and son ISHAM ROGERS ( formerly of CHATHAM CO. NC we think ). This pertains to the law suit against Mizell and Bryant L. Pearce and is dated 1st Monday, August 1858 in which it listed that TOBIAS W. ROGERS was deceased by then. So he had died prior to 1858, if I am correct on my interpretation of these court documents. WILLIAM H. MIZZELL and BRYANT L. PEARCE had been Administrators of the TOBIAS W. ROGERS estate and his son ISHAM ROGERS had brought suit against them both from the sound of it, and it appears they were found guilty and paid their fines. It also appears that in SARAH ROGERS testimony of her HUSBAND TOBIAS W. ROGERS she said this : " About the month before T. W. ROGERS death he told me that he had sold his tract of land in CARROLL COUNTY to WILLIAM MIZELLE and had bought land in BENTON ( County ) . .that he had made a deed to ISHAM ROGERS to the piece of land in conveaynce of the same that he sold to WILLIAM MIZELL & that ISHAM ROGERS had given ( illegible but looks like it says "given him receipt for a . . . " ) "said tract of land where the last payment was made to ISHAM ROGERS was to make a deed to the same but if he had to so again, he would not do . ( IE ) to make a deed to ISHAM ROGERS for it would make hard feelings among his children for it already had made hard feelings." Notify Administrator about this message?
