Stephen, I am a direct descendant of Luke Miz(z)ell, (servant of Thomas Gray), to> Surry Co. VA. c. 1628 (?) My line goes through the Marriott's, Smythwick's, etc, etc, and ends up in Coosa Co., AL, with Elizabeth Francis Mizzell, b. 1847, daughter of Gliston W. Mizzell and Matilda Goodgame. ( I've seen Mizell spelled every way imaginable, including Moiselle, and Measles)! I have everything back to Luke, except the wife of Mark "The Younger", (Gliston's father). My father told me that she was from a Spanish family:
Well, in the 1850 Coosa Co., AL census, living with one of Gliston's brother's - (can't remember if it's Michael or William) - there is a Nancy Galiho,. b. NC, age 47. Galiho, I'm sure, is an anglicization of "Galijo", a Spanish surname. Might you have any info; Duplin or Martin Co., NC, on the wife of Mark? I'm assuming you have all the DOB's on Mizell's(?) If not, I have them- just don't want to clutter up things with a lot of numbers...
I'm grateful for any help! Otis Fuller
