The Desta Mize b 10 Sept 1897 in the family of Charles Frederick Mize (Sr) and Mary Ann Adcock Mize married Robert W Jones and died in childbirth 8 Oct 1928. She is buried at Rosemont Cemetery in Union.I have her death certificate which states spouse and parents names.
This has to be a different "Desty", and her maiden name would not have been Mize, it was Fowler; the Mize we would be looking for would be John H Mize of Union who was Mattie's father.I am unable to find anything on a John *H* Mize who lived in the Union area but I am still trying.

Mattie Mize Debrabant (1896-1962) of the obituary was married to (and is buried with)one Philip C Debrabant (1891-1970).He was born in Illinois of parents who were French immigrants, original social security number was issued in SC; he died in Iowa but was returned to SC for burial and is buried at Travelers Rest along with his wife.

In the 1930 census only one child is listed and it is a son, Douglas/Philip Douglas b 1924.

In the 1900 and 1910 census, Philip is living with parents Leon and Delphina in Georgia; I cannot find the 1920 census record for this family, it may not be indexed yet, not all of the 1920 census is.

I have been able to find birth records (NC) for the Debrabant son's children, a son, Phillip Douglas Jr,b 1947 and a daughter, Kathryn b 1950.
