In the book I mention before, "Satan's Ferryman", the first 5 pages are devoted to what is known about William Prince. He was he leader of the expedition out of Prince's Station and Spartenburg, SC to Prince's Fort, TN, and finally Eddyville (which became Prince's Town - Princeton KY).He is important to our family since he was a brother-in-law to Col. William Mitchusson.Prince's second wife, Elizabeth Ford was a sister to Permelia Ford, William's wife.Elizabeth was married previously to Phillip Ford (obviously not a direct relation to Elizabeth) and had 3 sons, Phillip Jr, James, and Richard. Her father's name was John. This also makes John Ford the father of Permilla.James Ford Mitchusson would then have been named after his uncle. This is also very interesting, in that James Ford had a very interesting past.It appears he led a dual role as prominent member of the community and justice of the peace and running Ford's Ferry and his distinguished military background, and his later years in supporting his wealthier lifestyle through murder and banditry.Much of the outlaw stories of the post revolutionary period are devoted to the area of Western KY along the Ohio River.Apparently the attrocities committed by the outlaws of this period surpassed the post Civil War period (i.e. Jesse James, Billy the Kid etc).
