Mordecai and Lucretia Mitchell?

I have been told that Mordecai Mitchell and Lucretia Heutchison are the parents of James Harrison Mitchell born 07/12/1832, John West Mitchell born 1837, Mary Louisa Mitchell born 02/21/1840, Susan M. Mitchell born 1838, Hester Egglintine Ann Mitchell born 06/15/1849 and Margaret Mitchell born 1852. All were born in Tennessee.

Around 1859 James Harrison, John West and Mary Louisa made their way to California. John West and Mary Louisa settled around the Tehema/Shasta County area. James Harrison finally settled in Sonoma County, with his wife Nancy Elizabeth Garrison and their children. Mary Louisa married B.F. Potter but there is no record of him making it to California. Mary Louisa later married Samuel Thomas.

According to the Certificate for Vital Records for James Harrison Mitchell it lists his parent as Mordica Mitchell and Lucretia Heutchison. According to the 1860 Federal Census for McDonald County, Missouri Lucretia was now married to William Hartman.

Other than the Certificate for Vital Records I have not found any records to substantiate if Mordica is indeed the father or Lucretia's maiden name.

Thank you for your reading this.
