In concert with two other cousins, we are documenting our Mitchell ancestors for the past 400 years in America. We would like to locate a descendant of our gggggreat gf James Mitchell's brother, Richard Mitchell 1746-1821.

The latter Richard Mitchell b abt. 1746 d 30 Mar 1821, was brother/executor of will for our above James, who d at age 31.

The latter Richard Mitchell is the ancestor of Henry Clarence Mitchell 1869-1945 (married Emma Jesse Shehigh 1893-1946). According to the 1930 census, children were Manera M. b 1912 (not shown in this census); Louise Margret 1914; Elizabeth Edmonds 1816; Harrit C. 1920; H. Clarence 1923; Joseph S. 1926; & Amy H. Mitchell b 1928.

Would like to make a contact with a male (Mitchell name)descendant to ask if he will participate in the yDNA Study. Currently three cousins descendants of the above James have participating in the Mitchell yDNA Study. We are identified as "Haplogroup I, Group 09." (We are not related to the hundreds of other Mitchell's in the Study.)

Participants can be viewed--scroll down:

You can review costs from the latter, or go direct to:

I would very much like to hear from one of our distant cousins in Northumberland Co. I can also be reached at email:

Many thanks. W. Ray Walker
