Need to correct this statement in post (delete it entirely):"...Robert m a second time bef 1810 to a Jane b bet. 1881-1890-per 1830 census & a son b bet 1795-1800. In the 1820 census, Robertís young son was there, 10 years older, and Robert had a dau b bet 1810-1820, who would be a child of the second wife...."

Robert Hardwick did not have a second wife. The Robert in Henry Co., KY was son of Robert Hardwick (Sr)b ca 1730, d 1783 Bedford Co., VA. Descendants of Robert Hardwick, (Jr.)
1 Robert Hardwick, (Jr.) 1756 - 1830
.. +Jane LNU 1766 - 1830
... 2 (male) Hardwick b Bet.1795-1800
... 2 (female) Hardwick 1811 -

The supposition is that Robert migrated as did his sister Elizabeth Hardwick & husband John Mitchell said to have died in 1833, Robertson Co., TN.

John Mitchell (Sr) is my gggg gf; in 1816, he bought land in Robertson Co.,TN with his son John Mitchell, Jr., witnessing the transaction.

Different Mitchell families in VA claim that their son John married Elizabeth Hardwick - & have posted names of their children that could not be part of my John Mitchell's:

We want to prove or disprove that John Mitchell's wife was indeed Elizabeth (Hardwick) Mitchell who d in Robertson Co., TN ca 1820. The yDNA study will help solve. Will post about when facts can be proven.

If someone has proof that Elizabeth (Hardwick) Mitchell died in VA or elsewhere, it could be very helpful.
