Mitchell, Cates and Gradys of TN AND MO
Some info on my line of Grady, Cates and Mitchells. GGgrandpa Jesse L. Cates b: Feb.1850-55 MO. d:1910-1914 MO His father was b:TN his mother b:IN. this is according to most of the census reports I have found.
* Sarah Mitchell was the daughter of Thomas Griffin Mitchell b:1804 NC d: Granby, Newton co MO near Corsicana and JoHannah (Hannah) Boyd b:abt 1804.
Thomas Griffin was the son of Thomas Mitchell b:1757 NC d:1855 Lawrence co, TN buried in Brush Creek cemetery and Mary?

* Have no info on the supposed 6th child could have been with her first husband

****The records for 1890 have mostly been distroyed. Obviously this is when Dora Mae would have shown up (if she is a daughter of Jesse and Sarah Cates) and she could have been with other relatives or married to Walter Freeman Burton and living in KY by 1900. So as of yet no concrete proof whether she is or is not their child.

**According to everything I have heard from relatives and have seen on line Sarah Mitchell-Pryor-Cates died somwhere between 1902 and 1908 in MO I assume in Jasper co. MO. Also that Jesse Cates died between 1910-1914 also MO
