According to this link, Abraham Meisenheimer of Cabarrus County, NC was Cecil's grandfather. His father was William Meisenheimer of Union County, Illinois.....the town was Dongola.
I am researching the Smith (Schmidt) family who were closely related to the Meisenheimer family since or maybe previous to their arrival on the ship Lydia from Rotterdam, last from Cowes.....Arrived Philadelphia, 19 September 1743. At least a Johann Jacob Missenhamer is listed as a ship passenger as well as an Andreas Schmit. The link for this list is http://www.immigrantships.net/1700/lydia430919.html
