I have a Jesus Miranda who's wife was Petra, b. abt 1847 in the Kern River Valley. Petra was a Miwok or Tubatulabal Indian. They had at least thirteen children. They had a son Fernando Miranda who was married to a Frances (Robles?). She was born about 1871 and married to Fernando 8 April 1896 in Kern Co. Fernando died Mar 15 1939 in Weldon, Kern Co CA. There is another Indian family in the Kern River Valley named Marinda also. Steban Miranda who was a "rain maker". He also had a large family. I believe that Steban and Petra were first cousins and Steban adopted the surname of Miranda from Jesus. Let me know if this seems to fit in with your family.
