Caleb Minty 1748, Horton with Woodlands
Hi Cousins,
Great new news! The Caleb Minty & Elizabeth Bastard married in 'Horton with Woodlands' parish in county Dorset on May 14th 1747 are indeed our ancestors as well.I finally got the film in for viewing (Bishop's Transcripts) and was pleased to find also in that parish the baptism for Caleb of Caleb & Elizabeth Minty, on March 6th, 1748 (our ancestor who married Mary Browning in Ringwood).
Horton & Woodlands are within 10 miles, north-west of Ringwood.
Other children baptized in Horton with Woodlands are:
Eliz., daughter of Caleb & Eliz. Minty, on October 1st, 1749
Mary, daughter of Caleb & Eliz. Minty, on June 27th, 1751
James Minty on March 11th, 1753
Moses Minty on April 27th, 1755
No other Minty baptisms recorded in Horton with Woodlands.
One burial was recorded for Eliz. Minty on February 26th, 1764.Unfortunately there is no way of knowing for certain if this is Caleb's wife or his daughter.
There were no other Minty records recorded in this Parish.
The first Ringwood recording for our Minty ancestors was the marriage of Caleb Minty & Mary Browning in 1767.It appears the family dispersed from Horton in the mid 1760's.The next step will be to find where our latest Caleb Minty came from before Horton.
Best,
Shawn Friers
