Seeking information of the descendents of John and Hannah Minthorn. They were the aunt and uncle of President Herbert Hoover. In the summer of 1855 Hoover moved to Newberg, Oregon to live with the Minthorn's. John Minthorn was a doctor and school superintendent. The family were Quakers from Hoover came from West Branch Iowa. His mother Hulda Randall Minthorn was born May 4, 1848. Hulda's parents were Theodore Minthorn and Mary Walsey. There is a historical Hoover-Minthorn House located in Newberg, Oregon. What ever happened to the Minthorn Family? Did any of the family move to Pendleton, Oregon and adopt any Umatilla Indian's?
