This is from the "York County SC Will Book 3 1840-1862" page 269
Pages 149-151: South Carolina, Chester District. Will of John Minter of said districe. I wish my moveable poperty to be sold except for my patent clock, on bed and covering and the money to be dispose of as follows. Wm. Sherer & wife Martha to get one fourth part and also the above except bed and covering; Jesse Gwinn & wife Mary A. Gwinn to ger one fourth part and one half of the said bequest to the sole of separate use of the said Mary if the said Jesse continues in his present deranged state of mind; to Elizabeth Minter widow of Jesse J. Minter and eighth part & one eighth part to her four children Rebekah, Junius, John & Jackson. Also to the said Elizabeth Minter the plantation wheron she now lives including her house and farm adj. Wm. Winter, McAlilly, 80 acres. To William Minter I give a corner of land on the east side of the creek and north of the Chester line, one or two acres and I now confirm to him the said Wm Minter the land I have heretofore conveyed to him. John L. Minter has a conveyance for his share which I now confirm to his use. To Isaac Minter I give the plantation wheron I now live, 80 acres including all my land not conveyred by deed nor by this will, also my patent clock. The remaining fourth part of my moveable property to be equally divided among Wm Shearer, Isaac Minter, Wm. Minter, John T, minter, Elizabeth Minter & Mary A. Gwinn. I appoint Wm Minter & John T. Minter, exrs., 2 March 1839. John Minter (LS), Wit: Robert Hays, Mary C. Hays, Ethalinda Minter. Proved in York District by the oath of Ethalinder Minter 13 Jan 1847. Qualified Wm Minter as executor 18 Jan 1847.
There is also a will for William Minter dated 26 Sept 1807 and if anyone is interested I can also post it.
