Evan,
Joseph P. Minteer and his childrn migrated to Sigourney,Iowa in 1850 from Harrison County, Ohio. The name Minteer,not Mintier, was used prior to 1800 and probably derived from Montour,French-Canadian. There are two branches of the Minteer's. one from Pennsylvania, the other from Ohio.We are trying to find a common connection. Hope you fit in somewhere.
