James Drummond Minor...Obituary
Posted by: Bea Campbell (ID *****3687) Date: March 22, 2006 at 14:36:05
  of 1754

I am not related to, and I am not researching the Minor Family.

I came across this obituary in a copy of "Mining and Scientific Press" published by the Dewey Publishing Company, San Francisco, California...Vol.103 No.24 page 761, dated December 9, 1911. I thought that it might be of help or interest to a member of his family....

"JAMES DRUMMOND MINOR, one of California's pioneer miners, died at Nashville, Eldorado county, on December 4, at the age of 83. He arrived in San Francisco by way of the Isthmus in the spring of 1850 and engaged in mining operations in Eldorado, Placer, and Plumas counties. He left California in the sixties, and was for a number of years engaged in mining operation in Unionville, Nevada, and Bodie, California. He was Secretary of State of Nevada from 1868 to 1876."
