Carbrooke Parish Register (Norfolk, England) 1800-1901

Having recently researched the Carbrooke Parish Register, I thought I'd share the following Minns entries. Please note that these are my interpretations of the register and that the list is not all-inclusive. Without a doubt, I missed some entries.

1802 "Robert Dennis of the Parish of Watton, singleman, and Elizabeth Minns of this Parish, single woman, were married in this Church by licence this nineteenth day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and two by me Robert Barnes, minister. This marriage was solemnized between us Robert Dennis, Elizabeth Minns (both signed). In the presence of Jerh. Minns, Mary Dennis, Martha Mendham (all signed)."

1806 "Elizabeth Minns a married woman aged 59 years was buried Jany 14." (1806)

1806 "Peter Minns of this Parish, singleman, and Elizabeth Barnard of the same Parish, spinster, were married in this Church by licence this twentyeight day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and six by me Geo. Deane, vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us Peter Minns, Eliz. Barnard (both signed). In the presence of Robt Willownatt(?) Dennis, Elizth Oldfield (both signed)."

1807 "Jeremiah son of Peter Minns and Elizabeth his wife was baptized August 16." (1807)

1808 "John son of Peter Minns and Elizabeth his wife was bapt. Augt 7th." (1808)

1809 "Thos. Starke son of Peter Minns and Elizabeth his wife was baptized November 5th." (1809)

1811 "William & Elizabeth son & daug. of Peter Minns and Elizabeth his wife were baptized Jany 13th." (1811)

1812 "Robert son of Peter Minns & Elizabeth his wife was baptized June 28th." (1812)

1812 "Jeremiah Minns widower aged 74 years was buried Novr. 7." (1812)

1813 "1813 12th October Mary daur of Peter & Eliz. Minns, Carbrook, farmer, by G. Deane."

1814 "1814 Nov. 13 Martha daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by J. Lane."

1816 "1816 April 28th Mildred daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Minns, Carbrook, farmer, by W. Grigson."

1817 "1817 24th August Peter son of Peter & Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by W. Deighton, vicar."

1818 "1818 22d November Henry son of Peter & Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by W. Deighton, vicar."

1820 "1820 11th June James son of Peter & Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by W. Deighton, vicar."

1821 "1821 28th October George son of Peter & Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by W. Deighton, vicar."

1824 "1824 4th April Charlotte daughter of Peter & Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, farmer, by W. Deighton, vicar."

1825 "Charlotte Minns, Carbrooke, burial 4th May (1825), age 2 years, by R. Grenside, offg min."

1831 "John Minns of this Parish, a bachelor, and Mildred Younge of this Parish, a spinster, were married in this Church by Banns this seventeenth day of March in the year one thousnad eight hundred and thirtyone by me H.C. Hare, curate. This marriage was solemnized between us John Minns, Mildred Younge (both signed). In the presence of Rebecca Clarke, Elizabeth Alyre(?), Jeremiah Minns, Thomas Hipkins (all signed)."

1833 "Jeremiah Minns of this Parish, a bachelor, and Rebecca Clarke of this Parish, a spinster, were married in the Church by licence this twentythird day of July in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirtythree by me H.C. Hare, curate. This marriage was solemnized between us Jeremiah Minns, Rebecca Clarke (both signed). In the presence of Eliza Clarke, Elizabeth Alyre(?), Robert Clarke, Thos. Hipkins (all signed)."

1836 "1836 November 27 Robert Minns son of Harriet Holmes, Carbrooke, single woman, by H.C. Hare, curate."

1837 "Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1837 July 10, age an infant, by H.C. Hare, curate."

1837 "1837 Marriage solemnized at Carbrooke in the Diocese of Norwich in the County of Norfolk. November 7, 1837. Robert Minns, full age, bachelor, farmer's son, residence: Carbrooke, son of Peter Minns, a farmer. Harriet Holmes, full age, single woman, peasant's daughter, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of Thomas Holmes, labourer in husbandry. Married in the Church of Carbrooke according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England by me H.C. Hare, curate. This marriage was solemnized between us Robert Minns, Harriet Holmes (both signed). In the presence of us Jeremiah Minns, Eliza Clarke (both signed)."

1838 "Peter Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1838 April 26, age 65 years, by Wm. Hepworth, offic. minister."

1838 "1838 Sep. 9 William son of Robert & Harriet Minns, Carbrooke, labourer, by H.C. Hare, curate."

1840 "1840 February 17 Mary Ann daughter of Robert & Harriet Minns, Carbrooke, labourer, by H.C. Hare, curate."

1840 "Mary Ann Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1840 February 28, age an infant, by H.C. Hare, curate."

1841 "1841 Marriage solemnized at Carbrooke in the Diocese of Norwich in the County of Norfolk. January 1. Thomas Minns, full age, bachelor, tailor, residence: Carbrooke, son of Peter Minns, farmer. Frances Thimblethorp, full age, spinster, domestic servant, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of Robert Thimblethorp, carpenter. Married in the Church of Carbrooke according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by me H.C. Hare, offic. mines. This marriage was solemnized between us Thomas Minns, Francis Thimblethorpe (both signed). In the presence of us Peter Minns, Harriet Thimblethorpe (both signed)."

1842 "Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1842 Febry 26th, age yr., by H. Bird, curate."

1852 "Mildred Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1852 May 20th, age year 1, by Wm. Wells, vicar."

1852 "Sarah Clarke Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1852 May 27th, age 12, by Wm. Wells, vicar."

1852 "Sophia Blanche Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1852 July 17th, age infant, by Wm. Wells, vicar."

1853 "Sarah Ann Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1853 June 7, age infant, by G.W. Hellyer, offg. minister."

1864 "John Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1864 23rd July, age 55, by Wm. G. Baxter, officiating minister."

1865 "Mildred Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1865 15th May, age 61, by Wm. G. Baxter, officiating minister."

1866 "Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1866 May 12th, age 85 yr., by B. Golding, offic. min."

1867 "Rebecca Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1867 Feb. 18, age 65, by Wm. Wells, vicar."

1868 "1868 Marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of Carbrooke in the County of Norfolk. October 19, 1868. James Minns, 25, bachelor, butcher, residence: Carbrooke, son of Robert Minns, labourer. Elizabeth Lawrence, 30, spinster, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of Charles Lawrence, labourer. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after banns by me John Fletcher Burrell, vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us James Minns (signed) Elizabeth Lawrence (x her mark). In the presence of us John Lawrence (x his mark) Elizabeth Minns (signed)."

1869 "1869 Marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of Carbrooke in the County of Norfolk. September 27th, 1869. Jeremiah Minns, 60, widower, butcher, residence: Carbrooke, son of Peter Minns, farmer. Mary Dent Moy, 54, spinster, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of John Moy, coachman. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by license by me John Fletcher Burrell, vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us Jeremiah Minns, Mary Dent Moy (both signed). In the presence of us George Minns, ? Elizabeth ? (both signed)."

1871 "Allice Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1871 Nov. 16, age 9 months, by J.M. Johnson, off. minister."

1871 "Elizabeth Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1871 Decr. 22, age yrs. 22, by John Fletcher Burrell, vicar."

1876 "1876 Marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of Carbrooke in the County of Norfolk. November 6th, 1876. Henry Stubbs, 28, bachelor, groom & gardener, residence: East Dereham, son of James Stubbs, labourer. Fanny Minns, 27, spinster, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of Robert Minns, labourer. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after banns by me John Fletcher Burrell, vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us Henry Stubbs (x his mark) Fanny Minns (signed). In the presence of us William Minns, Elizabeth Nicholls (both signed)."

1879 "Mary Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1879 May 30, age 64, by John Fletcher Burrell, vicar."

1880 "Jeremiah Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1880 Novr 15th, age years 73, by John Fletcher Burrell, vicar."

1885 "Harriet Minns, Carbrooke, burial 1885 Feby 18th, age years 70, by John Fletcher Burrell, vicar."

1892 "Frances Minns, Carbrooke, burial May 31 (1892), age 70 years, by W. Taylor, vicar."

1893 "1893 Marriage solemnized at Carbrooke in the Diocese of Norwich in the County of Norfolk. Decbr 25. Herbert Jeremiah Minns, 24, bachelor, miller & farmer, residence: Carbrooke, son of James Minns, farmer. Gertrude Edith Murrell, 24, spinster, residence: Carbrooke, daughter of Matthew Murrell, parish clerk. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England after banns by me W. Taylor, vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us Herbert Jeremiah Minns, Gertrude Edith Murrell (both signed). In the presence of us Harry Murrell, Mary Ellen Caddy, Mary Murrell, Matthew Murrell (all signed)."

1901 "Robert Minns, Watton, burial May 7th (1901), age 89, by Edw. Biscoe, vicar."
