Oakley Minnix was my great-uncle. He married my Dad's aunt Pearl Thompson and had 5 daughters. His dad was Charlie Henderson Minnix and mother Mary M. Hunsucker. They were married May 26 1904 in Wise CO VA. I only know of 3 children, Oakley of course, Odus and Maud. Charlie was born about 1884. He died in 1962 in the state mental hospital in Marion VA. Mary Hunsucker Minnix died Oct 28 1972 in Norton VA. Her parents were William M. Hunsucker and Serrilda Wampler. I have more on both her lines if you are interested. Found Charlie on the 1900 Wise Co VA census as a boarder in the home of 2 women. Been told his parents were James Minnix and Lydia Whittaker but know nothing else expect James Minnix fought in the Civil War and is buried in Pound, Wise Co VA. I found a James Minnix age 20 in the 1880 census of Wise Co VA listed as the son of William B. and Margaret Minnix. Do not know if this is the same James. I have a Hunsucker line so that is why I researched this family. I will email you more information.
