I'm not sure, short of a family bible or something, that there is any way to make a definite connection. I know for sure that my Emely Minnear was born in Wood County in 1819 and that according to the 1820 and 1830 census, there is only one family she could possibly belong to, and that is John Minnear's. There simply are no other families with a daughter the right age. I may be wrong, but it looks like all the children everyone has listed for John Minnear comes from the 1850 census when children's names began to be listed. The problem with that is that makes John about middle aged before he begins to have children. I think that's improbable. Also, the early census records show him with children born prior to Caroline.

Do you know of any family bibles, wills, or anything which may list the names of the other children?

Other than that, I would like to find out who John's father was, if you happen to have the information.

Thank you for your help.
