Hi Connie,

I wish I could help you with your question. I have of course read all the messages about the Mink line being of Cherokee descent. I don't rule out that possiblity but I don't know of any proof. Peter is reportedly from Pennsylvania and not the father of Hannah Minton who was born about 1788. Peter and Levina married in 1806 and he died in 1823. I have not linked Peter to any parents as yet. I have also not linked John, my ancestor to any parents. The only photo I have of Andrew Bain Minks my great grandfather and my grandfather Thomas Alvin Minx do lead one to believe they are of Indian descent but the family has always maintained they were of German descent.

Let me know if you learn of anything new.

Peggy
