Levi Valentine Mingus

I am a descendant of Levi Valentine Mingus and Sally Johnson. They had a daughter named Mary Lavina Mingus who married James Knox Polk Bullock, May 17,1866 in Morgan County,Ohio. They moved to Mecklenburg Co., Virginia in 1872 along with James parents(Moses & Priscilla Talley Bullock)and several of his adult siblings. James and Mary both died from Typhoid fever somewhere between the birth of my great grandfather (Joseph Fulton Bullock) Aug 1,1875 and the 1880 census. Mary and James left behind four children, Florance-1867,Jennie-1869,Robert-June 19,1873,and Joseph.
There is a family story about a lady named "Grandma" Martha Hart who rode a horse through the wilderness while holding on to Joseph. The last few miles she was chased by a large Black panther, as she approched the cabin, she yelled for help, they opened the door and she rode the horse into the cabin. The door was shut just in time for the cat to hit it.
Does anyone know if Martha Hart is a relative to the Mingus family? Is there any other off spring of Levi Valentine out there?
Deb
