When i did my researchs on the Mingo family, 9 years ago for my mother in law, i stopped at François Xavier and Adélaide Lescault at that time. But, Mingo is french origin, even with few generations that moved for work in USA. On Lescaut side, the family name is french origin; you can have on that family a man who maried a first nation women. The ''indians'' were friends with the british, François-Xavier Mingot was a Patriot who died during a battle against the british at St-Charles-sur-Richelieu south of Montréal.
