Hi Eddy,
I believe that the mother of Samuel D. and Robert S. Miner is Matilda Morton, sister to my gr gr gr grandmother Rebecca Morton. My gr gr grandmother (the daughter of rebecca) is also named Matilda. Your Matilda was born about 1808 in Maine and according to information I have been able to piece together, the Morton family came to Muskingum County, ohio (around Zanesville) from around Northport, Maine about 1818, which would have made Matilda about 10 years old when they came from Maine.

I would sure love to learn more about the Miner family. Matilda and Rebecca had another sister, Clara Morton who married William John Irvin. They must have been really close to Matilda and Henry Miner's family, because they named one of their sons Miner Irvin. I believe their parents to be Thomas Morton and Sylvina Gilkey.
