I came across this posting and wondered if my great grandfather could be the AP Minchew you were looking for. His name was Augustus Philip Minchew and he was born in 1880 in Bosier Louisiana (I think). He was a mercurial character who had oil interests, and homes, in both Dallas and Denver. What makes me think it is him, is that he was also involved in a prolonged third divorce around that time (he was eventually shot dead on April 6, 1930 by his wife, in fact I think they shot each other at the same time and he died first). I have been desperate to trace this line of my family but am getting nowhere.

His father was Augusts F. Minchew and his mother was called Margaret but donít know her surname. He had lots of siblings - James, Ada, George, Stella, Stewart and Leila. Gus's first wife was Mattie Herman Quarles and they had one child, my grandmother Margaret Louise Minchew.
