Champlin=Champlain & Talmon also French
It is more than likely that the CHAMPLIN (I assume it is pronounced "SHAM-plin" in English) was named after the French explorer Samuel de Champlain ("shom-PLEN" without the "n" sound at the end). Champlain sailed everywhere along the New England coastline, all around Nova Scotia and down the St Lawrence River, where he founded Québec in 1608. He gave his name to Lake Champlain on the NY-VT border when he was exploring all that area as well.
The other strange first name "Talmon" is more than likely French as well.
I notice a DELARMEE TALMON in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada tel: (250) 391-1299.

Samuel de Champlain was thought to be from a Jewish family in France. Talmon might be derived from "Talmud".
