Thank you for your suggestion about my Matthew Mims' being the male in the H/H of Wm. McCall Mims. I had not thought of that possiblilty, having drawn the inference that he was listed on the 1940 Twiggs Co., GA census in the 20-29 age bracket. The ages of his children fit that. I guess he could have come to MS and left his wife and children in GA until he got his land patent in about 1841. I believe Wm. McCall Mims got one too.
