I have tried for years to get you on the right tract with your Richard Mims. All of you state he was the son of Thomas and Mary, son of Benjamin Mims and Judith. This is absolutely wrong. He was of Goose Creek SC. Thomas Mims/Mimbs was married 2 times. Mary was his last wife and had the last four children which includes Richard, who was born c.1790, she was not born until 1765. So how you could get a person born 1754 her son to fit your tree I don't know. He lived with his mother after the death of Thomas in 1809, and they are listed on 1810/1820 census. This is my family and I spent years serching all Mims to correct mistakes. Richard is believe to have died about 1812 or moved west with a sister. None of the last children were old enought to be the executors of Thomas' estate so his 2 son-in-laws were made executors. The youngest children included Richard and Jesse Mims. Jesse, Benjamin and David moved to Ga. The oldest sons Samuel and David were killed at Fort Mims.

If you want more inforamtion on this family pleaser contact me.
