Some time ago, I tried to trace my Milton ancestors in the East End of London, but didn't pursue it and lost my records in house moves.I'm trying to pursue the trail again. From what you've written, our ancestors seemed to have lived tantalisingly close, but no common names as yet.My grandfather Alfred Milton was born in the East End (I think Stepney) in the 1880s and had a large number of siblings, including two brothers killed on the same day at the Somme. His father, Alfred Thomas, was a musical hall entertainer, and owned or managed the Greengate pub in Plaistow. That's as much as I can remember, but if this is any help to you I'll let you have more info as I get it.
