Hi, My name is Janet Milstead. My family is part of the Milsteads that made its way from Charles County, up into Baltimore County, MD. One of my great aunts had worked-out a geneology back in the 1980's, so I was aware of our initial roots. I visited the village of Milstead, England in 1998, and have some photos of the village square, its beautiful winding roads, fields, thatched-roof houses, church, gravestone of at least one Milstead, etc. It is a very friendly place! If anyone is interested in obtaining copies of these pictures (color photocopies), please send an email to me at jemagain@hotmail.com, and I will give you more information. I would need money for postage, but would be glad to assist you with these pictures, as the villagers I spoke with had not yet met an American Milstead wandering around their small quiet community! (I took a half-hour train ride from London, and then a cab, and landed on the Main lane of the village -- the cab driver came back two hours later, when I had walked as far as I could, been taken-in for tea by a very nice family (I stole neither gingerbread NOR figs), and taken many pictures! I was polite and well-dressed, (then an acting student in London) so I believe I represented us better than our thieving Edward, whence he was banished from that general area! Let me know if you are interested. Sincerely, Janet Milstead Shrewsbury, Southern PA Notify Administrator about this message?
