Just recently received Milroy information that I'm sure is my family line since one of the contact persons this gentleman has is a distant cousin of mine that my aunt gave me the name of.

Anyway, here's what I have (with your people listed in the data).

John (b. 1734, "WIG" - Wigtown?, Scotland; d. 1772, Canada) and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown; b. 1738, "WIG"; d. 1772 Canada or USA) Milroy.

Their children: (born in Whithorn, WIG. Scotland)
Mary Milroy (b. Feb. 15, 1762) married George McWilliam (b. abt 1755)
Janet Milroy (b. 1764) married John McHarg (b. abt 1760)
Elizabeth Milroy (b. 1766) married Alexander McKey (b abt 1760)
Anthony Milroy (b. 1767; d. 1806, Schenectady, NY) married Janet ? (born about 1772)
John Milroy (b April 12, 1769; d. Apr 21, 1834, Glenville, NY) married Johannah Eglisham (born USA) on Apr 19, 1824
Agnes Milroy (born 1772)

What I haven't learned yet is whether my great great grandmother, Anna Milroy (married Charles "Charlie" Dawson) is descended from Anthony or John. I'm waiting to connect with the above-mentioned distant cousin.

How are you descended from John and Johannah? Email me directly at and I'll share the other information I have on them.
