Hello Pat,
I'm surprised that I have no record of your Clara MILNES. I assume that MILNES was her married name?
I have found four married couples on the Nottinghamshire 1841, 1851 and 1861 census where Clara/Clare MILLS/MILNES was the wife but they are all still in Notts in 1870.
Have you proof that she came from Nottinghamshire?
When did she die and how old was she.
Try and give me a bit more information (emigration date, children etc)
