I have traced my ancestors back to Thomas Milnes born 21/12/1827 at Cromford Derbys to a Thomas Milnes/Mary. However,I cannot find any trace further back. I have reason to believe that Thomas Milnes may have come down from Scotland to Richard Arkwrights Mill at Cromford as at the time in 1825/7 he registered at the church as a Millwright.They also had a daughter Sarah b.1825. Can anyone help.
