I'm looking for any further information on Joseph William Milnes which seems to have elluded the family for a long time despite their best efforts, or anyone seeking the origin of Milnes in Australia from what I can tell.
He was married to Margaret Milnes (nee Hogarth) - who passed away at age 63 in 1921 (in Brunswick Victoria). He was 65 at the time of his death in 1921. Their children were Clarence William Milnes, Ann Hephzibah Hazledine (nee Milnes), Eva May Martin (nee Milnes), Elsie Pulling (nee Milnes) and George Drew Milnes aka 'Burby'.
Burby's (Joseph's son's) full name was George Drew Milnes
His D.O.B. was 15/9/1895. He was married to Linda May Milnes (nee Ward) on 21/6/1923 at St Augustines Church of England Moreland (suburb of Melbourne, Vic, Australia) as she was a member of the Choir at Church for 2 years prior to her marriage (her dob was 9/9/1900).
Burby's children were then(1) Donald Clarence Milnes (dob 10/4/1924)- married to Esther May Schenk on 3/2/1950 at Kew Baptist Church in Melbourne (2) Iris Hazel Henry (nee Milnes) born 30/9/1927 married to Albert Henry at Moreland Road Baptist Church in Melbourne on the 23/5/1961.
