ROCKY MOUNT — Edith Davis Millwood, 67, died Monday, March 12, 2007.

She was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Edgecombe County to the late John Daniel and Edith Robinson Davis. She was a seamstress with Barcalounger.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles W. Davis, Johnnie L. Davis, Arthur R. Davis and Rudolph Davis, and one sister, Bessie Marie Spain.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Clarence Millwood; a son, Thomas G. Millwood and wife Rita of Tarboro; a brother, Delano R. “Tommy” Davis of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Mandy Millwood and Nicholas Ellis; four nieces and seven nephews.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at Bowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Oakview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2412 Arlington St. Extension Rocky Mount NC 27804.

Funeral arrangements are by Bowling Funeral Home and Crematory, Rocky Mount.
