Brian,

I was doing a little web Cerfing when I cam across your query on Genforum. I too descend from Jane Millsaps. I have traced her ancestors back to Ireland.

I have come to the conclusion that Jesse was conceived when Jane was 9 years old. Since she was not married, Jessie went by her last name of Millsaps.

Jane Millsaps
Aug 24, 1759 Stanton, Augusta VA
Apr 18, 1846 Cocke, TN
Jessie Millsaps
1768 Randolf County, NC
1840 Monroe County, TN

I have a picture of Jesse's daughter, Martha Jane Millsaps. Martha Jane married Henry Lee Lowery. These were my great great grandparents.

I cannot find any information about Henry but I surmise that he was Cherokee. I also have pictures of his son and grand daughters.
