Phillip McGee, s. of William & Jane (Millsap) McGee (?)

It seems to be generally accepted that William McGee and his wife, Jane Millsaps, of Augusta Co. VA, died without issue.

But a one sentence statement in Chalkley's Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia (Vol. 1:329) is intriguing. It says "John Heren vs. William McGee -- William McGee's son, Philip." This was in March 1764. It sure seems to indicate that William and Jane *did* have at least one son, Phillip. What happened to him? Did he die soon after this lawsuit, leaving no heirs?

I'm actually tracking Millsaps and just happened on this, but it is a mystery.
