Hi wayne

I see that there is a family MILLS, listed on the other web site, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com that has a combination of these names.

Levi, with father as William, they are of Washington Co GA.

So says that reseracher at the time, they posted it and I imported it to my MISC MILLS files. 5 4 2005

Apparently this line of family, part and parcel of it, was on several other gene sites, too.
www.gencircles.com
and
www.rootsweb.ancestry.com, several on there.

Goes some thing like this:
Going backwards from Levi,
William and Celah,
Alexander and Alais(Alice) GENT
Gilbert and Agnes ALEXANDER
Gilbert and Susannah BOWYER
Gilbert B: ca 1610 Derbyshire England and Margaret ASHMORE.

I have from this file, Levi MILLS B: 4 3 1799 Washington Co GA and Sarah GARDNER.
Says that they had 10 children.
1. Celah Ann
2. Joseph T
3. Mary C
4. William G
5. Levi J
6. Amanda E
7. Sarah J
8. John E G
9. Nancy Ann E
10.Martha T

says children were born from 1824 to 1847
Pike Co GA.

This is all I have on them.

Since this family did not go in any direction of which I know of "MY" MILLS, I did not inquire further.

Apparently on some of these other gene sites, there were postings that some of the family members seem to be mixed up and not with the correct ancestor names.

This was back in 1997, that I came across some of this information.

Says some of the Alexander MILLS' seems to be mixed up, date wise, etc.

Possibly it has now been corrected??

Have not checked on them of late.

Hope some of this may help you.

If this is part and parcel of some of the MILLS family of which Sharon LEE did an extenstive research, you might check her data file on rootsweb as well. (sdlee1 at cox.net). that is s d lee 1 (one) not "L".

Can read her postings on the MILLS LIST on same web site, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com in the archives.

She spent a lot of time and effort in straightening them out.

I do not have any notes on this line doing any DNA testing.

If there is a male MILLS, present day, who might consider joining the MILLS DNA project, would be of immense help to all of us.

Does sort us out nicely.
