This is an excellent hard to find genealogy source.
"Pike County Mississippi 1798-1876, Pioneer Families and Confederate Soldiers, Reconstruction and Redemption" by Luke W. Conerly published in 1909 has been reprinted in its original format. This book documents many early pioneer families of Pike and surrounding counties with over 400 surnames and also contains many interesting stories. The Pike County Courthouse burned in the 1880's and much of Pike County history would have been lost without this book. I am the authors great great grandson and had this reprint created from a pristine 1909 edition. The hardbound reprint is 368 pages with photos and illustrations. The author was born near Tylertown MS in 1841 and was a 5th Sgt. in the 16th MS Quitman Guards Co. E.
