Hello Patricia: It does look like an "S" but her name was Mildred Viola Mills. We're not sure where the "S" came from. Thanks anyway, I appreciate your willingness to help out. I've ordered her death certificate from Marcy so maybe that will tell something about her parents. Nothing else has worked! Looks like she had 2 sisters named Cora (marr a Spencer) & Myrtle (marr a Lethwaite/Lewthwaite) but even a search of those names in a h/h or Cora by her age in 1910, didn't yield any clues.
