Thank you for your reply, Patricia. I have since located Samuel Mills on a Rochdale gravestone as married to Mary Alice Rawstron, who died in 1958. They married in 1891. Mary Alice was the daughter of a mill owner and also married to one. I still know nothing else about this Samuel.
Mary Alice had a sister, Isabella Rawstron, who married Frederick Harold Schofield in 1906. She died in 1937. I know nothing at all about Frederick.
Neither do I know their birthdates.
