A program presently being shown in segments about the Native American people of the New World. Experiences with the Pilgrams etc. Their assimilation of the European ways, religion, etc.
On your local PBS stations, at about 8:00p.m. Saw it Monday or last evening (tuesday) on channel 10 OPB in Portland, OR.
Mentions that Major John RIDGE, one of his sons known as Elias BOUDINOUT/BOUDINOT, not sure of the spelling on the program.
Very interesting, as it applies information about the Native American People, and some of the MILLS descendants metnioned that they wished to find if their rumors in their family tree, of Native American Background.
I read a long time ago, a book, about an Elias BOUDINOT/BOUDINOUT and how he called John MILLS, "kin".
At that time, other surnames referenced in that entry/book, were GIBSON, JOHNSON and GULICK among others.
At that time of my beginning research, an extreme novice, did not understand all the "ins" and "outs" of how things come together. So did not note all the information where found
page, volume, etc.
Just now did an internet search for Elias BOUDINOUT/BOUDINOT and find that a man by that name was the President of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, PA.
My question, were these Elias' the same man???
From this program, it might be of some help to others who are trying to tie in their Native American roots through this program.
